We
have received an extortion letter from GettyImages.co.uk demanding
just under £1,000 payment for the innocent use of an unauthorised
picture. You know the one with the guy packing boxes of fudge!!
Dressed up as "protecting the photographers copyright", this
letter demands this HUGE sum of money and has been sent to
thousands of website designer and site owners in the US and UK.
It's a licence for Getty Inc to print money. Like he hasn't enough
already!!!
We
put the picture up because we wanted to make people smile. There
was no malice intended and we certainly didn't think that we would
be infringing a copyright. We made no profit from it and it's not
exactly promotional material is it??
If
you want to see the picture, e-mail me and I'll send it. I won't
charge you!!! It's on loads of birthday cards and is probably on
it's Billionth e-mail trip around the world. You will already know
it when you see it.
You
can read more about how this multinational company feasts itself
on small innocent people and companies and this particular
extortion racket here :-

I
don't like bullies. I smacked 'em in the mouth as a schoolboy and
I'll do the same as an adult.
I'll
see them in court!!
