have a spanking 2.4cc, top-of-the range Ford Transit LWB high
top LX model splitter van available for self drive hire. This
is the ultimate small tour bus, designed & conceived using
our vast touring experience and built by Advanced Vehicle
Builders (AVB) to give you a luxury journey and peace of mind
wherever you are heading. This is the crew bus we would have
loved to use in the past but was never available until now!

Drive
This luxury
top of the range Ford Transit splitter van is a superb drive
. It has a quiet engine, drivers arm-rests, a full electric
pack, including heated front windscreen, electric windows,
powered steering, heated and electric powered wing mirrors,
AIR CONDITIONING, ABS brakes, alarm, immobiliser, central
locking CD/Radio and front fog lights. In our opinion the
Transit was the first purpose built van and is still the best.
Luxury
One driver
and seven passenger seats with 3 point belts. Three cockpit
& five well spaced seats in the lounge, set around a removable
table with cup holders. The lounge area has been insulated
to reduce road and engine noise. Access is through the side
door with 2 grab rails. Executive opening tinted windows each
side for your privacy. Luxury features include Play Station
2 & top of the range Blaupunkt DVD/CD/Radio facility with
2 Blaupunkt drop - down 15" screens to front and back,
4 Blaupunkt speakers, 2 x 12v electric sockets for laptop,
mobile phones, games, personal walkman, mp3, DVD etc. We have
also added extra storage for hand luggage in hat rack above
the seats.
Safety
The professional
conversion by Advanced Vehicle Builders is to the highest
standards with safety as paramount. Seat belt testing was
witnessed and certified as complying with European safety
standards by the VCA (The Vehicle Certification Agency) who
are the UK Vehicle Testing Authority. All seats have been
safety checked and have comfortable 3 point safety belts.
The bulkhead is strengthened to protect you from stored equipment
in the unfortunate event of an accident or a sudden stop.
The
vehicle is also centrally locked, immobilised & alarmed
via a remote unit. All conversion work done by AVB conforms
or exceeds current European safety standards. ABS brakes are
fitted to this vehicle as standard.
Storage
Area
The long
wheel base hi-top means that you have space for your backline
and merchandise needs. Storage area is as follows H78"x
L49" x W69". We have a securing belt to improve
safety and prevent any gear falling out when you open the doors.
There is a step under bumper to help load in/out and we have
even installed a light, so you can see what you are putting
away after the show. Personal storage is also available in
the overhead rack in the lounge or under the seats. (Please
note that the storage area is about 2 feet shorter than the
Jumbo or the Mercedes Sprinter).

This is
dependant on drivers ages, insurance and licence and subject
to a £750 deposit to cover insurance excess. European
cover is £105 extra per week or part thereof. Drivers
with USA licenses will be charged £80 per week of hire.

Fully
Comprehensive Insurance - Self drive for musicians policy
For your
piece of mind, we are one of the few companies in the UK offering
a fully insured vehicle for self drive to the entertainment
industry. We declare to our insurance company that the vehicle
is used by musicians and pay a few thousand pounds extra premium
per annum, to make sure that you are properly and legally
covered. This insurance covers the vehicle and up to 8 people
including the driver. Contents are NOT insured. We would advise
you to make sure you have the contents insured yourselves.
- Please
note that there are companies out there offering splitter
vans for hire which are not properly insured. Particularly
for self drive or if you are a musician. Our policy is available
for you to to view at any time.
Breakdown
cover AA AND RAC
Fords standard
RAC breakdown cover in UK and Europe is included, The RAC
breakdown cover includes Roadside Assistance and load continuation
- if the fault cannot be rectified your vehicle will be taken
to one destination (probably to unload) then to another to
be repaired. We also include AA breakdown cover in the UK
as standard. European cover can be arranged at £8 per
day and is recommended (but not compulsory) for any any non
warranty issues i.e. flat battery or puncture etc. So basically
that's double the cover to assure you of a speedy response.

Please note,
this is self drive vehicle and a NO SMOKING vehicle. Splitter
bus rentals - available for Self drive hire only. Drivers
must be over 25 years old and have held a licence for
over 60 months.
